- What is Savannah Bar and Grill?
- Savannah is that rare breed of restaurant that doubles as a bar - which happens to have live music, mostly made up of highly gifted Jazz, Blues and Soul musicians from all over Kansai and indeed the world.

- Is Savannah a Gaijin bar?
- We don't wish to consider ourself a gaijin bar due to the stigma associated with such a title. Patrons who come to Savannah for the sole purpose of "picking up girls" will be politely discouraged from doing so. More over, our main target are the Japanese which currently make up about 70% of our active clientele. Thus, undignified behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.

- I only see Japanese chefs in the kitchen. Is the food authentic Southern cooking from America?
- Every two months we elicit the support of gourmet soul food chefs who fly all the way to Osaka to train our chefs; thus we believe that the food in Savannah is both genuine and authentic and will stand the test of even the most ardent Soul Food critic

- I notice that when I arrive in Savannah the staff is prodding me to hang up my jacket. Is this really necessary?
- Our purpose is to create a warm, comfortable yet more importantly, classy environment without the forbidding price tag that is common in Japan. A place where the average working person can afford to impress his/her date, or to come to Savannah a couple of times a month. At the Osaka Blue Note and the Ritz Carlton, the staff will promptly take your jacket and check your bags. At Savannah, so will we.

- In your advertisements you say no door charge, no table charge, but in 2006 you started a "music charge". Whats the difference?
- A "music charge" may be assessed to customers who wish to sit and view the live performances in the rear seating area. The charge will vary depending on the popularity (i.e. demand for seats) and talent of the act. \500 - \1,000 is considered standard. For specific music charge for each act, please refer to calendar.

- Do all Savannah patrons have to pay a music charge?
- No. People at the bar, dining and parlor area do not have to pay a music charge. Weekday events, special programs (Blues Jams; Gospel Brunch) and performances in the dining area (piano) are also exempt from music charges. Please further note that "Open Curtain" performances (rear area) allows patrons to stand (in the hall) and watch the show for free. "Closed Curtain" performances, however, means only paying customers can watch the show as those who are outside of the rear seating area will be cut off from viewing the show. For details regarding Open/Close performances for specific acts, please refer to the calendar.

- I am a musician/entertainer/event producer. I wish to have a performance at Savannah. What should I do?
- First, take a look at our requirements. If you qualify, send an email to info@savannahbarandgrill.com with the title "Performance request". Please include details of your act, band, performance or event and someone will reply to your generally within a week. In general, those with a higher chance of generating a large crowd will be given the highest priority regardless of genre or type or type of music.
